Who we are

We are Arctic Instinct, a Stockholm-based band dedicated to creating modern soft rock that is emotional, heartfelt, and real. Our music lives in the space between light and shadow, where honest lyrics meet atmospheric soundscapes, and where every song tells a story that lingers.

Our songs are shaped by a shared love for melody, feeling, and storytelling. With our debut album From Sunray To Dark, we bring together songs that reflect the contrasts we all carry within us: light and darkness, hope and doubt, closeness and distance. The album represents who we are as a band — emotionally driven, sonically layered, and always focused on authenticity.

At the center of our sound is Leif Andersson on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, giving our music its voice, character, and emotional core. Noah Falk on lead guitar adds edge, depth, and expressive melodic lines that help define our identity. Elias Berg on bass guitar provides the grounding pulse beneath the songs, steady and warm, while Mikael Lund on drums brings energy, drive, and dynamic power. Jonas Nyström completes the atmosphere with keys, textures, and backing vocals, adding the cinematic and ambient layers that give our sound its emotional width.

Together, we create songs that are meant to be felt as much as heard. We believe soft rock can still be modern, meaningful, deeply human, and that sincerity never goes out of style.

Leif Andersson is the voice and driving force behind Arctic Instinct. With a raw, emotional delivery and a cinematic sense for dynamics, he turns stories into powerful, atmospheric soundscapes – balancing intimacy and intensity with effortless authenticity.

Born in southern Sweden and raised between forests and long winter nights, Leif developed an early connection to music as a form of expression and escape. What started with a worn-out acoustic guitar and late-night songwriting sessions quickly grew into a defining part of his identity. Inspired by the vastness of nature, Scandinavian melancholy, and modern alternative rock, he shaped a sound that feels both grounded and expansive. Off stage, Leif is drawn to solitude, photography, and long hikes -constantly searching for moments that later find their way into his lyrics.

Noah Falk shapes the sonic edge of Arctic Instinct with his distinctive guitar work – atmospheric, driving, and emotionally charged. His playing moves effortlessly between subtle textures and soaring leads, giving the band its dynamic intensity and cinematic depth.

Growing up in northern Germany with Scandinavian roots, Noah was drawn early to the expressive power of guitar-driven music. Fascinated by the contrast between silence and sound, he began experimenting with tones, layers, and ambient textures as a teenager. Influenced by alternative rock, post-rock, and cinematic scores, he developed a style that feels both modern and timeless. Outside the studio and offsite the stages, Noah is passionate about sound design, late-night jam sessions, and exploring new sonic landscapes – always pushing the boundaries of what a guitar can evoke.

There’s a kind of truth you only find when you stop trying to fill every space. That’s where things start to breathe and where I feel most at home.
Elias Berg

Elias Berg is the grounding force of Arctic Instinct, anchoring the band’s sound with deep, resonant bass lines and a natural sense for groove and dynamics. His playing brings warmth and weight to the music, connecting rhythm and melody in a way that gives every song its emotional foundation.

Raised in Sweden, Elias discovered music through rhythm before melody – drawn to the physical, almost hypnotic nature of low frequencies. What began as curiosity quickly turned into passion, leading him to develop a playing style that is both restrained and expressive. Influenced by alternative rock and atmospheric soundscapes, he focuses on feel over flash, always serving the song. Outside of music, Elias enjoys nature, analog photography, Kundalini Yoga, and anything that allows him to slow down – a mindset that subtly shapes his musical approach.

Control is nothing without the courage to let go at the right moment.
Mikael Lund

Mikael Lund

Drums

Mikael Lund is the rhythmic backbone of Arctic Instinct, driving the band forward with precision, power, and an instinctive sense for dynamics. His playing is both controlled and explosive – building tension, releasing energy, and shaping the emotional pulse of every track.

Born and raised in Sweden, Mikael found his way to music through rhythm at an early age, drawn to the physicality and raw energy of drums. Over the years, he developed a style that blends technical discipline with emotional intensity, influenced by modern rock, cinematic soundscapes, and live performance energy. Off stage, Mikael is known for his focused mindset and calm presence – a contrast to the force he unleashes behind the kit.

Jonas Nyström

Keys / Atmosphere / Backing Vocals

Jonas Nyström shapes the atmosphere of Arctic Instinct – subtle, immersive, and quietly powerful. With layered textures, ambient elements, and a refined sense for space, he gives the band its cinematic depth and emotional undertone.

Jonas raised in Finnland with a deep affinity for sound and silence alike, and he moved to Sweden in his mid-twenties, where he was drawn early to music beyond melody – fascinated by mood, texture, and the invisible layers that shape how a song is felt rather than just heard. Influenced by ambient music, film scores, and modern alternative production, he developed a style that lives between presence and restraint. Outside the spotlight, Jonas prefers calm over noise – spending his time with analog synths, field recordings, and solitary moments in nature that later find their way into the band’s sound.
